This was a really hard book to read. The subject was overwhelming, because it happens all the time. I'm glad that the one night stand turned out to salvage able after he found out about Abby. She sounded like me granddaughter,so much so, I wanted my daughter in law to read this, just so she didn't keep thinking there was something wrong with her evil demon teenager. Ha ha. Thanks for the read, and taking care of Rodger. He really gave me the creeps,right from the beginning.Product details

I believe I received this book on one of 's lists to me. It was an excellent book. The suspense in this book was excellent. This author did an outstanding job in writing this story. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend to anyone reading this review.
This book kept me up late! I hated to put it down once I started it. I didn't go to bed until the battery on my Fire shut down and I had to plug it in. Finished it the first thing the next morning!
Abby was a fairly normal strong willed 12 year old, determined to learn more about her biological father. It is understandable that rather than deal with judgement Lucy represented herself as a widow. But, her mistake was not revealing the truth to Rodger before the wedding. The plot from that point was largely predictable. This would be a good book for a sleepless night when the goal is something light that will hopefully lead to sleep.
Fascinating, intriguing, and thrilling. This book had me all taken in. A totally different rendition of love lost and then found, but difficult to hold on to.
But as always time takes care of all ills.
I've read many of Stockenberg's books and have enjoyed most of them, particularly the "By the sea" series. This was the type of book that I kept checking the percentage left so I could get on with my life. I knew where it was going most of the time.
There is something about the style of the author that I like. She tells her story and her description of the towns make me feel I am there. Just simple writing with a good plot. Sometimes I need something to read quickly and her books are that. I have ordered most of her books and I am never disappointed.
